Dr David Bonser
Senior Clinical Psychologist
I have more than twenty years experience as a psychologist. Beginning with volunteering as a teacher on Murdoch University’s Young Autism Project in 1992, I then went on to complete a First Class Honours in Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology) degree. Both theses were applied in nature and examined effective techniques and therapeutic procedures for young neurodivergent children. I went on to work for the Disabilities Services Commission, The Western Australian Police Service, and for The Health Department; primarily working with people with a diverse range of needs.
I have experience with helping people with depression, anxiety, physical illness, neurodivergent support, physical disability needs, familial support, promoting general wellbeing, and physical health. I have worked as a private clinician since 2005 in both metropolitan and rural settings.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to assist children and their families, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Personality Theory.
