Jacinta Twohig
Registered Psychologist
BBus BA Mkt, Psych (Hons) MPsychPro
I enjoy working with neurodivergent children and adolescents of all ages, and their families, providing ongoing, individualised support. I am driven towards celebrating strengths, and collaborating with clients on their goals, applying my creativity to adapt evidence-based therapy in meaningful and fun ways. Have you considered using a Patronus instead of an invisibility cloak? What would your Stand power be if you were struck by the arrow?
I completed my Master of Psychology (Professional) in 2020 and attained general registration as a psychologist in 2023 (after starting my studies in the 1990s – yes, I was able to watch Friends when it first went on TV and streaming was a futuristic concept!). I can also look back and think, “Wow! I did nearly all my studies with undiagnosed ADHD!” I discovered my own neurodivergence whilst working at The Kidd Clinic.
This lengthy period of intermittent study has included a lot of fun and also challenging times ‘adulting’, such as living and working overseas, travelling to many countries (Iceland is a highlight – Egypt is still on the list), a career in market research (mostly hotels and health sectors), and raising two children. If you meet me, you may notice a few stray white hairs stuck on me which would originate from Luna my Jack Russell Terrier who seems to be forever shedding her Velcro-like fur!
