Dr Kate Harman
Clinical Team Lead (Supervision)
Clinical Psychologist (Melbourne)
BA (hons) D.Clin.psy
I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in working in multiple settings with a diverse range of people.
I worked in the UK National Health Service (NHS) in London for 10 years in primary care and community mental health before moving to Australia. In Australia I have worked in private practice and tertiary education (university) settings.
I am passionate about creating a warm and calming environment in my sessions with clients to enable therapeutic growth. I am client centred and I believe in meeting people where they are. I take a strengths-based approach and am trained in several therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT and CFT. I am a mindfulness meditation teacher and value fostering compassion and meditation practice both personally and professionally. I have worked with many neurodivergent clients and have multiple neurodivergent family members.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my son, deep diving into his passions. I am an avid reader of all manner of fiction and psychology related books. I practice yoga, enjoy experimenting in the kitchen with new vegan recipes and love coastal walking.
