Kristy Cooper

Clinical Psychology Registrar

BSc, BPsych(Hons), MPsychPro, MClinPsych

I am a Clinical Psychology Registrar with a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) and have experience working in community mental health, disability services, private practice, and employee assistance programs. These experiences have given me insight into how I want to work with people – that is, focusing on their strengths and building authentic relationships to support them to reach their own personal goals.

I am a direct, curious, collaborative, and empathetic clinician, passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults with a range of presenting issues, including anxiety and mood disorders. Particularly, I am interested in working with perfectionism, identity, self-esteem, and assertion. I primarily provide CBT, schema, and MBT-informed psychological intervention. I am committed to working with those who are neurodivergent and provide neurodiversity-affirming psychological intervention and assessments including autism and ADHD assessments.

Besides my interest in psychology, I am also an avid Pokémon fan and collector and am passionate about philosophy. I practice yoga and tai chi and enjoy being outdoors, engaging in camping, hiking, and cycling.
